Thats why it's a good idea to have a walking stick with you to nock a dog on the head to get his attention. Very few dogs will continue to attack if confronted with a stick or a club that might be used against them.

so sorry to hear. From now on you might want to carry small pepper spray with you or at least a nice walking stick. Start whacking that bad boy. Its a good time to turn Ninja. Praying for a quick healing. Hopefully is was just an accident that the dog got off lease or dug out of yard. If the owner just allows his biting dog to run loose he needs to go to jail.

NO!! I am not some hippy freak that thinks animals are better than people, but when you are told you are doing something wrong a smart and well-adjusted person will and should correct their actions.
As for the dog, sadly it should be at least put somewhere away from the current owners.
Most of all I hope that your wife mends fast and doesn't have any animosity towards dogs after this.

If it had gone through with biting someone I care about it probably wouldn't be alive or if it was it would be very lucky and sore. lol.

Its funny ya'll mention a walking stick because just a few minutes before I told her, I wish I had a stick JIC...In this case im not sure it would of helped. The dog approached as if he was just going to sniff us and go on about his business. Thats when I heard my wife scream and realized what just happened. It wasn't an instance where the dog came up growing and showing teeth. It was a fluke accident really, the road we walk down is a hill that lots of people walk up and down and have never had any problems.

Unfortuanly most owners don't care for your easier keep breeds like they should and when you combine that ignorance or isolation with the more aggressive breeds it ends in trouble... Ive seen pits and other dominate breeds that are mean as hell but I've also seen the same breeds be the most loving and easy going. It's the same as kids, it's in how there raised

I was attacked by a German Shepherd when I was a kid. He got out and mauled me while I was walking down the street in my neighborhood. If it was my kid the dog would have been euthanized. My parents saw to it that the dog was forced to be relocated to the country. Had to get stitches in my hand, leg and arse. Was afraid of big dogs until college after that incident. Now I have big dogs but they are labs.

My girlfriends daughter got bit by her aunts dog on her lip and chin. We took her to the ER because it was bleeding alot(fyi the daughter is 3 years old), luckily she didnt need any stitches. Get the police involved is the best thing to do.
Forgot to mention this happened on tuesday of this week
