What say you?.. Is it a Ocelot in Kaufman County?

All right guys, what kind of cat is this?

This picture was taken about a ¼ mile from my house. (40 miles S.E. of Dallas) The fence in the background is a property line on my dad’s property. The guy that set the game cam said the game warden thinks it is an ocelot and it sure looks like one to me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocelot
I had a calf (small) killed about 6 months ago and my neighbor found it near a tank with uncommon wounds and cat tracks near the body.

Bobcat with shadows of the bush between the cat and the camera flash. Short tail sticking up behind the bush. Those shadows do make the spots look more like an ocelot though.

I don't know Shane, that tail looks a little long. You can follow it on up through the leaves. I think it is an ocelot.

Maybe so. I'm on my phone, so can't get it very big. But I can tell that what looks like long black spots are shadows of leaves. Every one of them is right under a leaf, and they all match the leaf in size and shape.

I'm going with bobcat and don't see this long tail you speak of.

It is a bobcat. No discussion to be had. No way, no how is it an ocelot.

If you zoom in on the tail you can see the white tip

Here is a pic of an ocelot to compare the 2. I am thinking bobcat based on this pic. And the lack of the original not having the color inside the spots. The spots look solid on the original.

A lot of people have exotic cats as pets. One could have gotten loose. Do not rule out an ocelot. Send this photo to an expert at the zoo and TPWD. Are you near a big cat refuge?

The front legs of both photos look similiar between the Texas and Ocelot photos.
