Another reason to not use Bank of America!!

Apparently Bank of America does not want to do business with weapon manufactors, namely McMillian, and will never get any business from me. I have heard of a great deal of business deals over the years that made me not trust them but this takes the cake. Here is a link with the story:

Apparently Bank of America is no longer willing to provide banking services to McMillan Group Int'l, LLC (McMillan), a leading maker of gunstocks and an important supplier of stocks, rifles, and other hardware to our U.S. Armed Forces. Apparently it is not good enough that McMillan builds products used by our troops to safeguard our freedoms. Here's what went down.

Wonder why I did not see this on ABC, NBC, or CBS.

Well, you know why you didn't see it on those networks! One of the many reasons I went to the DPS Credit Union exclusively 3 years ago...

I personally have had no issues, but I don't sell guns.

I sure hoe that there is more to the story. I have seen other threads on the net that trace it back to Barry.

I've been thinking about pulling my accounts from BOA since they threatened to impose those debit card fees last year. I guess this gives me a good excuse. But, I think I'm going to wait and hear more about it. I do remember, vaguely, hearing something about (new?) regulations that make dealing with weapon manufacturers more difficult. If this was a business decision it doesn't bother me as much as if it was a political decision. The linked statement from McMillan was a little sketchy (IMO) on it being a "political" decision - because they used direct quotes in the earlier part of the account but NOT when talking about BOA's response on whether or not it was a political decision.

I'm just gonna wait for a little more independent info. I'm sure Fox News will pick up the story because the NRA is sure to raise a big stink! If true, it's a sad story.

I have never done business with BOA, but much like I am amazed at how a lot of banks get away with criminal or borderline activity with almost impunity, I was most shocked when I read an article back in February about a man who was NOT allowed to pay his mortgage in cash at a BOA close to his house. It was actually against BOA policy to allow the cash payment of a mortgage.........Does a BANK...NOT taking cash bother anyone else? Or just me..

                Or did I over-simplify it

Bank of America has declined to continue doing business with industries involved in gun sales?

                  I am undetermined also.

As a real estate broker I personally hate to see a buyer show up and tell me they are going with BOA. I can not understand how they have stayed in business by the way they handle their business. They used to be great to work with and then they bought out Country Wide. (Country Wide was the worst to deal with) BOA has gone down hill ever since.
