My dad and step mom offered my wife and I to move in with them and all we would have to pay for is our own groceries. The point would be to be able to save up some money. My dilemma is we have been our own for 4 yrs now. Our relationship with them is beyond great. But my fear is having to be under someone else's roof, not bein able to have company whenever, not much privacy, therefore causing tension between my wife and I after awhile or even between my parents and I. I know it's smart and would be great to save money but right now I live where I can now hunt off my porch, walk outside and urinate like a man, have a party whenever, my friends live maybe a 100 yds away from me, and i can let my dog roam a lil bit. AT my dads it's in a subdivision in Helotes where none of that is possible. I would even have to have my mom take care of my dog while living there because it's a rent house and no pets are allowed. So is sacrificing all that worth being able to save some money for a couple months?

No way, change jobs and get a better paying job to avoid living with your dada and mummy in law, omg good way to end up in a divorce or mental ward!!!!

after being layed off from my job almost a month ago we considered an offer from my parents to move in with them and save our money and not risk going broke.

HOWEVER, we were on our own for 4 years. then i got out of the military and moved in with them to make the transition easier. we now have been on our own for 7 years.

I love my mom and dad, but I will cut all my bills and risk going broke (although we are and will be fine)... If you think you can make it work on your own DO IT ON YOUR OWN. living with family like that stresses all the relationships. visiting is nice, but at the end of the day or trip please go back home!
