    Was it me?

I have hunted a small lease in eastern Jack County for for years now and up until this year have seen my fairshare of deer. I hunted approx. 25 to 30 times and saw one small 6 point all year. I know poeple have not seen as many deer as they have seen in years past but I can't believe that this all i've seen. I hunted from a pop-up blind about 20 yds from a feeder that was put up in March. I also hunted from pop-ups along trails that lead to the feeder. I did my best to keep my scent down and always hunt the wind. I have seen a few tracks but not many. Was it the weather, amount of food,or hogs? They seem to have just vanished. Let me know what you think.

I think it just depends on the location. I had one place I hunted in Jack county and I saw more deer there this year than I can remember in the past 6 years or so. I have another place that isn't more than 40 miles away in Clay county and I saw very few deer during the daylight hours. I did take the buck in my avatar at the Clay county place this year but it was tough hunting. My game camera at the place in Clay county had pictures of deer almost nonstop all night every night. So I know there was a lot of deer in the area, they just didn't move during the day.

I hunt northwest of Jacksboro near Antelope and the deer were pretty thin after the gun opener.
