    Cedar trees for lumber value?

I have about 30 very large cedars on my place that are sawboard quaility. I want them removed to help understory. I know most people pay to have cedar removed but has anyone ever sold or know a value for this type of timber. I will be happy to get them removed for free but wanted to see if they are sellable. thanks

If you don't find someone to buy them, I'd be interested in hauling them off for you. Are they standing? Where are they located?

I am in grayson county. They are standing. There is a local place that will come harvest for free but had a guy said he would purchase them or give me milled cedar as exchange.

I knew a family that was paid by a mill to take cedar off their place.

They were in Rockdale, I'm not sure of the mill though. But yes, people will pay if your cedar is big enough. The hill country stuff wont cut it.

Buy yourself a mill and sell the wood yourself. With that many big trees you could probably make some good spending cash.

A buddy of mine did this last year but instead of selling the wood he built a dang nice cabin. He sold the mill for what he paid for it with no problem.

Thats what my boss is doing

He bought this mill for 4k and plans to mill his cedar for a cabin
            and other buildings.
We just got it placed, and haven't really used it yet.
