    Fencing panels.

Anyone ever used the pre-made privacy fencing panels from Lowe's/Home Depot? How did they hold up?

I have used the pre-made panels once in the past. Not bad for the money but they are not particularly well made. The next time I built a fence I bought the materials and built it myself - using treated 2x4's for the rails and higher quality cedar pickets. It was quite a bit of work but it was worth it - much better fence.

I used them. They seem to be holding up ok. Went up pretty quick, just screwed to the post and made sure they were level.

My neighbor just did, They did not line up with his 4x4 posts and it looks like ****. Don't know how well they hold up as he just put them up. Just make sure they line up with your posts before you buy.

I build fences on the side, several TBH'ers can vouch, don't waste your money on panels. They are made with 2 x 3 whitewood runners and very cheap thin whitewood slats and small non rinkshank nails. They will not hold up long term. You will be replacing them in 5 years or less. As Jerp said, buy treated 2 x 4's, and either cedar or treated pine pickets and custom build the fence. Believe it or not, will not cost that much more and you will get a much better looking, stronger, longer lasting fence.

By the way, JUST MY OPINION.

Didn't think about lining up w/ posts, we had to replace them all, so it wasn't an issue.

Thanks for the advice guys! Slayer, when setting the posts would you think one bag of Sakrete per post would be enough?
