I was just floored tonight when during an MLB pregame my son looked up and said "daddy why is not everybody putting their hand on their heart?" ... Yes I realize it is not grammatical correct but he just turned 4. I still don't know how to answer that and he has been sleeping for hours

One reason is that veterans may render the hand salute during the National Anthem--thus not standing with hand over heart. Others--ignorant or just don't care, either of which rubs me the wrong way.

Tell him this is the greatest country ever known to man and that it is because GOD himself ordained it to be. And that some people dont appreciate any gift including the greatest one of all, being able to call themselves an AMERICAN
