    Tannerite

Just bought myself some tannerite and I am planning on using it this weekend. I just wanted to check with those that have used it before: does it make a flame when exploding? After last year and all the fires, I want to be cautious before I use it. Also, if I bought the 1/2 lb size, how far away do I need to be before shooting it?

Yes, it flames. Stay at least a 100 yards back, though it depends on how much you are using. And please don't put it next to a tree that you like.

I have witnessed 8 lbs. of the stuff going up. It is a blast! lol.

Yes, it all flames, I wasn't saying it will flame 100 yards, just stay back and wear hearing and eye protection. It will throw stuff at you and it is LOUD, AND it will also start a fire if you are not careful (which is what I meant when I said it flames, and flame is on a lot of peoples minds here lately/last year).

Just be cautious, read the instructions. Not you BTtB, just everyone in general.

All my experience with the stuff was no flame at all, couldnt start any fires. We had a blast with it even during burn ban.

It doesn't flame unless used in conjunction with gasoline. We shot 2 different half pound containers that were wedged inside of a round bale of hay and no fire occured. It just a large loud blast.

Same here. I was told it was water vapor...

No there is no flame. It is a binary explosion. Check out their website- says no flame. It just goes boom. I've used it a ton and there has never been a flame.

Here's an old tree stump we blew up

the cloud you see is just dirt, I believe that was only 1 lb, it left a hole in the gound about 3 ft in dia and about 8 in deep

Well, some guys at a private range in Dallas County decided to mess around and see what they could do and killed a really nice Pecan tree with it on a really dry day. The tree is still there, but doesn't leaf out or produce. Its pretty much dead. I don't know what happened to the dudes that did that.

It could have been a mix, but I just let the professionals mess with it...the ones with the cigs in their mouths when they mix it! lol. That crap scares me.

I like the 400 yard bottle gongs.

It will throw things at you. I had a minivan door come flying at me once.

I am most worried about flames, but since it says "no flame" and y'all have said it doesn't flame, I may try it this weekend. I will find something to shoot/blow up lol. And I might video it. Since I am a noobie, I will start with 1/2 lb and go from there
