With all the rains giving the deer on our place a buffet of acorns and other browse. I did not see even one buck all year, only a few young does. While scouting along the river today I found additional late season acorn sources and games trails that were not present before early in the season. Anybody body else come up short on meat for the freezer?

i came up empty handed this year but it is my fault, i put a bad shot on what would have been my best buck ever back in bow season. i did not tag a doe during the archery only season i just did not have a oprutunity (sp?) at one. i drew back on a couple of bucks but let them walk i will be happy about that next year. but this has been the best year i have had i have seen several deer in the three y/o range and that is saying A LOT for where i hunt, and our place did not get overhunted for the first time in 5 years so i am already excited about next season. this aint the first time a drew a blank and probably wont be the last.

You are not alone, misery loves company! It appears that I am only able to shoot deer in Illinois this year. The deer between Marble Falls and Burnet seemed to be allergic to sunlight and cornfeeders. If it wasn't for trail cameras, I would have seriously wondered if there were any deer on our place to speak of

Nada here also but I did have the chance of pulling the trigger on a couple of bucks early in the season but decide to wait on something bigger and better. Did shoot a big sow full of piglets so I got rid of seven @ one time. There's always next year they will be bigger next year. That's hunting o well.Enjoyed the time out watching wildlife.

My deer have been bitten by vampires as I only see them (actually pictures) at night.I wouldn't think there was a deer on the place if it wasn't for the camera.
This makes 2 years in a row that I've been shut out. Paying money for a lease and not having anything to show for it is getting expensive.

I never drew back on one this year...I was to busy videoing Tammy and Colby.
Last night I was getting my stuff together and a 140" buck walks out of the brush 21 yards down wind from me.
I was standing up in the stand and my bow was lowered down already...THAT'S MY LUCK.
I could only watch as he walked off and around me.
Hopefully, during the extended season I can drop a doe or two.
