What a difference a little rain makes

I was looking at pictures from my last year turkey hunt and was comparing to this year. These are one year and a week apart. These are taken in almost the exact same spot or looking in the same direction. These are in Menard Tx

I didn't realize it was that dry by early April last year? I don't remember it getting bad until May.
