    I blew it

Y'all know I bought a new-used boat a couple weeks ago. I love her and can't wait to take her out, Ive updated the safety gear, bought two new batteries, changed the oils and the new Furuno Radar will be here Monday.

Back story: I've been fighting a diabetic foot ulcer (even though I'm not diabetic) Over a year ago I spent 6 weeks in a cast and off work and still got to take James on a two week hunting trip to Texas for deer (He shot two bucks!) This put me in the hole MAJOR for vacation time as that and sick time are the same.

And now I'm out for 6-8 weeks and I promised my boys a deer hunting trip this winter. The STUPID thing is that my foot was fine and when I got her home I walked down one flight of stairs and across the street to show her to Linda (just in socks) and by the time we got there the sock was soaked in blood. And here I am. Can't work or go out on the boat. I'm restricted to my room and back in a cast.

    I want to go FISHING!

real sorry to hear. How do you have a diabetic ulcer if you aren't diabetic?? But I still hope it heals quick.

what I just read, it is the number 1 cause of lower extremity amputation....

just take care of that thing...I know your boys would rather miss a hunt and you keep your body in tact....

Brotherman, I just had to run outside and puke. My uncle had ulcers on his feet and they were bad. He had diabetes in a bad way. You need to go to your doctor, yesterday. Do it for your kids, if not you. We can't watch you get your legs cut off, dude. Get some help. I might just puke some more. God Bless your heart.

10 years ago I got very sick. Spent 10 weeks in ICU and a total of 4 months in the hospital. Did not (could not walk) that whole time. I came out in a wheelchair.

The way blood moves through your legs is arteries push it down, muscular contraction (walking) moves it back. Due to lack of blood flow I lost the feeling in my feet. Within the last 2 years a vascular surgeon has confirmed that I have good blood flow, etc.

Why it happens? Not sure. Out rabbit hunting last year I went back across my own tracks and saw that that my left foot cocked out, so it may just be that I'm pushing off with that big toe more. I don't know...

But I do see my Doctor! Costly, but I do it. Once a week they will cut this cast off, look at the foot and then put a new one on. I'll be fine as long as I take care of it.

It's just the fact that I can't take my boat out or work! One day and I'm bored to tears....
