Thinking of heading to the lease in western Mason County next weekend to do some turkey hunting. Just wondering if they are still gobbling and responding to the call. A few people said the first week was good, but they have been closed mouth lately. I'm afraid they may be henned up and I don't want to make the trip if they don't want to play.

Hunted last weekend in Streeter (SW Mason). Morning they were answering me a lot but couldnt get em to come to me. Evening they were quiet but came in and I ended up shooting an ok bird. Decided noise isnt everything as long as they are moving. -
We are just west of you on the Menard County line. The place is hard to hunt if we can't get them to gobble.Comment

Out here I Sonora right now and they are really tight lipped and don't want to come in when they do gobble. Think they were a month early like everything else because opening weekend was awesome!!Comment
