    water tank help

I need to remove water from one 3000gallon tank to the other. The water comes out of the bottom of one tank to a faucet. So I attached a hose to it and thought it would flow into the other tank. I failed to realize the opening to the other tank is 8ft up. I dont have a pump so the water does not have enough pressure to flow up. I can suck on the hose till water comes up but it still doesnt flow out of the hose. I dont want to buy a pump so what can I do.

    thanks

If you can seal the tank off put an air compressor on it...it will push the water out and up the 8'.

Raise the hose that is connected to the open faucet in the air where the water won't flow.

Lower the hose slowly until the water comes out. That is the water level in the tank.

You can get half of it moved to the other tank through a siphon (if the two tanks are level.

Hose to the bottom of tank to be emptied.
Other end of hose into the new tank.
(Both hoses are going into the tank from the top.)

One good suck (or lower hose till it leaks and seal the end with your thumb)

The water will siphon from one to the other until the two tanks are level. You need a pump or a bucket to get more than that.

Like I said, even if it is a non-pressure tank you can transfer it with an air compressor and a roll of duct tape. It only take 4psi to lift 8 feet. Stick the hose in the donor tank and tape everything up. Duct tape will seal lids, vents, etc. to 4#. Heck, even one of those 12V tire pumps will do it, it just won't do it very fast.
