    Pay it forward

I just wanted to share this story that happened to us yesterday.

On my days off I usually have the opportunity to spend my husbands lunch break with him. So, yesterday I go by his work.. Pick him up and go to one of our favorite restaurants. The booth we normally sit in was already taken so we glanced around the room and sat on the other side not paying much attention to our surroundings. Before we begin our meal, he says a blessing as we always do, and then we proceed with our conversation and lunch. We are just chatting along when the waitress approaches us and says the gentleman seated behind us paid for our meal and asked her not to say anything until after he left. With a bit of a shocked reaction we look out the front door to see where he went but he was already long gone. It gave us a very heartwarming feeling. I was kind of stunned.. I don't even know what this man looked like- let alone who he was. It just put a smile on both of our faces. (even with tornado sirens going off all around us lol) The waitress said he said he does it occasionally and just asks for them to pay it forward.

I've done that to a few people (pay it forward) at drive thru fast food restaurants and such but never been on the receiving end and never realized the warmth it brings to someone.

It just made our day and we were even talking about it today at lunch with a bunch of our friends. It was just really cool.

We'll definitely be passing the gesture onto someone else. <3

I think people pick up on confidence and strength and I don't mean in an arrogant way. It has struck me several times when I have done a similar thing.
Trust your instincts and do something nice for no reason, completely at random. It will make you feel strong and good.

probably the best christmas present i've ever given was to an older couple on Christmas Eve, when they walked in they saw our daughter and told us how beautiful she was, and kept "playing" with her throughout the night (you know the kind, making silly faces back and forth). Told the waiter to add their tab to ours, we paid and walked out, said merry Christmas to them.

awesome!! I've seen that happen twice in the last few weeks. One incident was a couple of cops that paid for our meal. What is so strange is that we were going to pay for theirs. They saw us praying and it touched their heart that we were honoring Christ by giving thanks and praying. They got up during our prayer and paid for our meal...We were amazed!! We were not whispering our prayers. Its good to see. It'll be a better world if people quit being afraid of saying Jesus or not applauding bikini fishing photos as acceptable. If that means being labeled holier than thou, Ill take the dumping on....Doesn't phase me. I will give glory...why.....because thats why we were created. To Worship GOD.

My husband accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour on March 11th 2012 at our church we've been members of for about 6-7 months. I've watched his relationship with God grow since the first time we met. It's been amazing to watch. I remember the look he gave me the first time we went out and I said a blessing. He just sat quietly and watched. He joined me at church and has since taken head of the household, says grace, and we plan on teaching our son about God. I have to say the most moving event that happened was when I was cooking one evening (before he was saved).. I thought he was laying on the couch watching TV but when I walked into our living room he was sitting on the love seat with the TV turned down and was reading the bible, one that my dad (who is a Preacher in SC) had sent to him. Any and everyone who knew my husband before I did... Would probably bet their yearly paycheck that he didn't even own a bible- let alone read it (I'd say he was a bit of a wild one in his younger days). He then began asking me questions and now studies it every evening we're home before bed. I think it's AMAZING.

I'm not perfect- far from it. I don't brag about how much I love Jesus Christ because I do sin... but I do brag about how much he loves me. Unconditionally. He has blessed us so much it sometimes feels like a miracle.

After telling the pay it forward story to one of our friends today.. He asked "Why would someone do that.." and I honestly think this stranger did it because he did overhear our blessing. Definitely makes you think.
