i would go with either the second or third garmin. the first one is really easy to use but i don't think you can upload any base maps to it.

look like older models? The new etrex 10 is pretty smoking for 119 bucks. and the new Etrex 20 has a topo card slot. Its 199.00.. I just bought the Etrex 20 for my backup. My main GPS is the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx. I wouldn't leave home without it. It has a big screen and topo card slot. Those you show in picture might work ok but with newer technology out for a few bucks more you can get a Etrex 10. Satellite reception has done major improvements with newer models. I like the topo feature on my GPS's. You can follow ridge lines, draws, ponds, etc all on your GPS...love it!!!
