If it attaches to your stock, like it should, then technically no. If it's a cheap one, attaching to your barrel, gas system, etc., throw it away and buy a real one.
Your rifle should still shoot exactly the same, you'll just have better support to steady the rifle. Of course, if shooting from a bipod ends up somehow changing your shooting form, everything goes out the window. Some range time certainly wouldn't hurt, just to make sure.
