How to boil easy peel shrimp?

I am about to boil. Sometimes they are hard to peel. Heard sometimes if they are too fresh and never frozen they can be hard to peel. I got them straight from a guy as he was docking and they are fresh. I only throw them in a hard boil for about 2 minutes then straight out and in ice. Just use spice. Do I need to add something else to water or cook/cool different?

Sounds like you got it right. Only time I have ever had a hard time peeling them is when they are over cooked.

I always go from pot to ice water with lots of ice for 10-15 minutes then over ice. Very easy to peel.

Throw a couple of spoons of butter in with the boil.

          very simple way Glen

dehead ..... use scissors and cut shell 1/2 way to tail

the shells will be full of seasoned water and the tails pop right out with a pinch ... you can suck the shrimp if wanted because they will be juicy

          directions :

season water , bring to boil .... add shrimp , turn off heat , cover and done in 2-3 minutes

you can add some ice to stop the shrimp from cooking .... let shrimp soak for 5-10 minutes

old ******* told me to NEVER put salt in the water when boiling shrimp. just lemon and butter. add tony's after they are cooked. started doing this years ago and never had a problem since.

Ohhhhh I love me some boiled shrimpies!!!! I throw a pound or 2 in my crawfish boil after I pulled my basket. I dont even roll the pot again. I just let them soak for about 10-15.

BUT I do cut the shells for added contact of the seasoning as Brother Blake stated.

These little suckers are my FAV for boil or grill!!
