I did nhot evenh know kids that young competed in roping events. Do they actually ahve to throw and tie the calf, or just rope him?

That is cool. My oldest son, who is now almost 46 has breathed rodeo since he was 14. He now helps teach high school age kids how to rope and bull dog.

Tell him to be sure and make sure he keeps his fingers out of the way of that rope.
