I like Caprock Cafe off of 82nd and Slide. Over in Mudslinger's neighborhood!

Garcia's on Slide is pretty good for Tex Mex. For steaks I still think 50 yard Line is good. Caprock is definitley good!

Abuelos is great. Orlando's is awesome, Italian with a southwest influence. Get the green chile chicken linguine. Spanky's has pretty good burgers and fried cheese.

Mudslinger, I am gald to see that someone besides me still likes 50 yard line. People always talk about how it has gone downhill, well I would have liked to see what it used to be then!!!!!

It did go down for a while after the owner change, but I like it as well if not better than any steak house in town. To me it is as good as ever and I have been eating there since 1975! Never had a bad meal there. Las Brisas will give it a run for their money, but it is more expensive at Las Brisas.

Spankys sucks....... Other than the cheese sticks! Garcias and abuelos for Mexican. Orlando's is good for Italian. Blue sky for a burger. Las brisas is good for a steak like stated above.

Is Cagle's still open out in the country for steak?

I will be in Lubbock on Good Friday, good to read about some places to eat. Have only been there once before and eat at Spankys. Want to try something for lunch , just in town for the day

Cagles is still open, but there are a lot better options for a steak in Lubbock. I have never been really impressd with their food.
