Need to find out about a 30.06 sign in Tyler

Is there a website that lists places with correct 30.06 signs? I am going to the zoo in Tyler tomorrow and I wanted to know if they have a correct sign.

Its North Tyler....might wanna carry for sure!! Some Zoo's you cannot carry because they are registered as an educational institution...Dont remember seeing a sign there when I us to go there.

North Tyler is just fine, but carrying is always a good thing anyway. We have a yearly membership and have been going for years. Never have seen a sign of any kind.

It's doesn't matter if the sign is correct or not it sposta be 1" letters but if you carry and there is a 30.06 sign in 1/2" letters you can't say ah well gota be 1" the sigh is still carry. The 30.06 is posted and by admitting it was "only in 1/2" letters" that means you saw the sigh and disregarded it....see how well that holds up in court....30.06 regardless of font size don't carry. Sorry for the off topic.

Just out of curiosity how could they prosecute you if the sign was not posted to spec? In that case they could get you for carrying into a place that simply has a pistol in the red circle, because you saw their intent and carried anyway. If they don't do it the legal way then I don't know how they are going to prosecute.

Sorry but I don't think that'll hold up in court. The law parameters are very clear. If it's not posted correctly, then the sign is useless.

Maybe a course instructor can chime in and set this straight.

You are wrong and the law is VERY CLEAR..

Penal Code Section 30.06(c)(3)(B) further states that a sign must meet the following requirements:
i. includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
ii. appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
iii. is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

Any other format than what is defined above IS NOT A LEGAL SIGN

Krisw said "correct" 30.06 sign. I was told at our CHL class correct or not you obey the 30.06. Because even if it's 1/4" letters you noticed it at the door and ignored it. The 30.06 and the federal sigh and the 51% is the only ones you have to worry about. Just because a stop sign isn't the same size as the other one doesn't mean you can run it. I'm just going off what I have been told. Because every fbfcu and sacu here in San Antonio has a 30.06 just about 1/3rd of the standard sizing, our instructor said it doesn't matter you saw the smaller sign and you ignored it and your in the wrong. Unless someone has other reasons sounds logical to me?

Letters at a bank you saw the sign noticed it measured the letters with your pocket tape measure would you walk into that bank. Would the its not 1" stand up? Or would like my instructor said " you noticed it and by saying its not exactly 1" you admitting noticing it and deliberately disobeying it. I'll have to call him out on it...I personally leave mine in the truck when 30.06 is on the door correct size or not...
