    Castle Doctrine under fire

The media is attacking the Florida stand your ground law unceasingly when reporting on the Stanford Florida shooting. Wondering if the political pressure is going to force legislative changes in states like Texas that have a similar stand your ground law? Thoughts?

    I doubt it...

No. It is a tempest in a teapot. All this will do is give a bunch of people to grand stand knowing that it will not change. Truthfully, I have had my fill with this topic.

Not in Texas as a state issue, but a federal administration capable of "Fast and Furious" would have no reservations using the Florida incident to try and justify tougher gun laws driven from the federal level.

If Obama wins the election we won't need to worry about the stand your ground law. He will start confiscating guns almost immediately using the UN small arms treaty!

I don't see it happening. Unless Dems get the House and Senate, no such thing will happen. Even if they did get it that would be political suicide for them. Ain't gonna happen...

The media is part of the problem with this country...I bleed free speech, but some of the yahoos needs a rear end adjustment.

Give it to the liberal dems and their friends in the media with their knee jerk reactions. Maybe they need to stat refusing to have armed guards with them everywhere they go. I'ts hard to believe that these are the leaders of this FREE COUNTRY!!!!!!!

the thing that suprised me is the shooter has been arrested (convicted?) of domestic battery. Here that eliminates you from concealed carry i dont know if florida is the same or not.

There are supposed to be witnesses that he was being attacked by the teen though so it appears that it may have been self defense.

                              Arrested does not equal convicted.
