    Eotech/bushnell holosight

Bought off eBay listed as being in perfect condition. Not a thing wrong with it. I verified with bushnell, it is a legit s/n. same device as eotech 511 just no protective hood

I don't know how bright indoors these should be but the pic inside is on max. I tried different batteries all new twice. Same results. Outside its nearly non-existant. Plus you can see a hue or foggy area all around the screen edge. The red dot/ring gets blurry near the edges. Is this enough for eBay assistance on the seller falsely advertising the sell??

You should be able to turn it up outside and see a crisp picture. It looks like it is delaminating. Is it labeled as an EOTech? There are a lot of fakes sold on Ebay. I would return that ASAP.

Definitely something wrong with that sight.
I'd try to get my money back if I were in your shoes.

If it was listed as a eotech I can tell you it's fake. Watch the ads, they like to list as eotech type! But by the pics it's not an Eotech.

Brightness is maxed out in the pics

Does not look right. I have caried Eo-Tech's for several years on duty, they will get blury around edege at higher settings but not as bad as pix show.

The sight is a real Bushnell

It looks to me that the inner coating of the lense is damaged and coating striations are propagating. Eventually these will cover the entire lense making the sight useless

Day or 2 later, I emailed the guy with the issues and he said he would refund no problem. He is original owner and bought it for a gun on a computer game??? $275 for a computer game sight!?!? (his cost when he bought it a few years ago) He never used it outside so didn't know the brightness degraded and didn't notice the haze on the edges.

I spoke with bushnell before I bought it to verify it. It is a real bushnell and has the same guts as the eotech 511. Just less rugged housing and no protective hood. They said bushnell developed the technology, then a few years in, partnered with eotech who offered it in a more rugged housing, protective hood, NV options, diff. batt. options, waterproof vs. the water "resistant" bushnell version. Eventually in '09 or '10 bushnell stopped production and sold/handed over all production to eotech.

I contacted eotech and they said about the same story and will support and work on bushnell halos for $60 + parts. But for the cost of a bushnell + parts and labor......I'll just put all that towards a eotech hopefully in my future
