Now lets say that same pile is there at the end of week two and has had 14days exsposed to moisture levels that occur daily, it runs the risk of aflatoxin levels be much greater than the 20 to 100ppb than on day one, at week three the levels could be way over 2000ppb and cause death in turkeys and major liver damage in deer, that they may or may not recover from.....

Hey Randy, I tried to email it to you, dont know if it made it ...
Its is basically in all the corn, even the corn we eat and alot of nuts....per USDA guidelines they are allowed to have 1 part per billion for human consumption, they have some pretty stringent testing procedures for it. the more aflatoxin the corn has will dictate what it is used for 1 part per billion for humans, 20ppb for animals with a warning label declaring the level, over 100ppb cannot be sold as wildlife feed, if you happen to buy corn that is not labeled as wildlife feed, just plain bag of corn, chances are it has a higher content and cannot be sold specifically as wildlife feed....but is still sold because of loop holes in the regulations... hope this helps...

Okay, Dale, I give. You are right. My buddies, including the CPA, are stupid and uneducated...they should be banned from hunting forever for dumping corn on the ground that will be eaten within 3-4 weeks. And you guys who are putting already infected aflatoxin corn in those 1500-2000 lb. feeders should have to forfeit your bows, firearms, and your firstborn child because the disease grows more rapidly in hot humid storage conditions, such as in bins.

LOL, Courtney! Dale and everyone else, let's kill this thread. No hard feelings here. We all get pumped up and over-react if we get our feelings or pride stepped on, no different than a live campfire. We still share the love of the same sport, but we all have elbows, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ s, and opinions.
Sorry if I offended anyone.

Sometimes a good long drawn out debate is what it takes to educate those that don't know all the facts. I think if nothing else this particular debate will make me give more thought to the topic at hand. I will do my research and then make up my mind on what to do about it. Meanwhile thanks for bringing it up for review!
