Anyone for New Zealand Summer of '07?

I am pushing my New Zealand trip off until the middle or end of summer due to the family situation and will need to find some new road partners. The game available includes Stag, Fallow, Tahr, and various other mess. I know the outfitter personally and he is a stand up guy. I get no kickback or anything on this, just looking for some hunting partners. Anyone interested email me at bowhuntermac03@yahoo.com.
I will only be able to respond for the next couple of days as I am leaving for Kodiak this weekend, and will return any un-answered emails when I return.

I am all over New Zealand for stag! Unfortunatly, my pocket book runs the show and says "not happening". I envy you Mac. That is my dream hunt, stag with a bow.

Mac I would go but I just booked a '08 Alasksn Yukon Moose hunt! We are looking into a Brown/Grizz combo. Plus I am putting in for WY antelope tag. I hear that hunt is not cheap.....I know someone that went and got Stag and Tahr and with mounts spent over 20K!

The link above is to one of the outfitters pages.
Cost depends on what all you shoot.

I have seen them hunt Tahr from a helicoper, that doesn't really interest me. I want a big stag with my bow. Still cant afford that.

Did not see any prices on the web sight, but the trophy fees for this following Silver Medal Stag was $3000 and the trophy fee for this Fallow buck was $2700. About the only changes in prices are changes in the trpohy fees for stag depending on their SCI score. Where I hunted, a stag scoring 380" to 400" was a $14,000 trophy fee and anything over 400" was a negotiated trophy fee. I hunted the south island this past April, right in the middle of the stag and fallow's rut, and believe me, this was the trip of a lifetime. If you get a chance, DO NOT EVER pass up a chance to hunt in New Zealand. The plane tickets over were about $1500 apiece, the hunt fee was $500 per day 1 on 1 or $400 per day 2 on 1, plus the trophy fees. You are only limited by your pocket book when hunting in NZ. Go if you get a chance. As far as hunting thar from a helicopter, that is possibly done, but the outfitter I used took clients up to the top of the mountains and hunted on foot from there. Bowhuntermac, even though I have been, I am still jealous. I definitely want to go back, just not this quick. The pocket book needs to settle a little.

I cant wait to go myself but it will be a spontinious trip. I hope to make it in the next year. I have access to private land and a friend of mine is a local. I thought that the airfare was expensive but after mudslingers post..............

I plan to partake in the local monteria, hunt stag and fallow. I really cant wait!
