    Ipod Help???

I received an IPOD Classic for Christmas and I LOVE IT.

How do I "share" the movies and books I purchased with another IPOD user? I know there is a "beam" tool but if I understand correctly both users have to own one? I tried to burn a movie and a book to a CD but that does not work either?

HELP???? I don't want to purchase books and movies if I can't share. But then is sharing the whole piracy deal?

I also checked out some sites for IPOD users but they all seemed shady. Any suggestions there would be helpful as well!

I thought an IPOD was a deer stand.

Seriously, I'll bet someone can help you.

    Hi, Cat. How you been?

Thanks Ronnie! Maybe one of the "kids" on here can help me out! I welcome the help of some 12 year old!!!!

I've been good! Being a little adult ADD, this past week of hunting the IPOD was awesome! I listened to a book and watched 3 movies while in the stand! Of course, it is put up once the feeder goes off !

I don't sync anything. I manually control my music, movies and books. If you go into your My Music folder, there should be a folder called Movies. I just copy that folder and then give it to the other person. Then they can add that file to their folder and then drag it to their ipod. There will also be a folder called Audiobooks. Just the same with this.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not a preacher, but I think what you want to do is illegal -- buy a song and then give it away. Apple/iTunes/iPod allow you to buy content, but it is only available to use by one user on up to 5 computers. That's not exactly right, but it's close.

You can hook up multiple iPods to one PC and share all the content on all the iPods, but when you take that iPod to another PC to sync it up, it will erase the contents of the iPod before allowing you to sync to the new PC. Pretty much preventing you from passing around content to all your friends in the world.

I think you can probably burn a CD with the content on you PC, then move it to your friend's PC and add it to their library on iTunes and then they can sync it.

That's what we want to do. Cat and I both have one and it's seems kinda dumb to buy everything double.

            Nah! Just husband and wife.

So simply sync both iPods to the same PC. I have my iPod, my iPhone, and two of my kid's iThingies hooked up to one PC. We share one library. Buy a song once, put it on all the iPods.

If you insist on using separate PCs, then you have to manually transfer the song from one PC to the other. There is no way, by design, to transfer music from one iPod to another directly.

If you are using a mac computer there is an application called "senuti" which will allow you to take things off of one ipod, save to your computer and then add to your itunes account.

Smash Ipod with big hammer, buy a Zoon. That's what I did and I am much happier. In fact, the Zoon is now gone and all I have is a simple mp3 player, better again! MP4? Whatever! No converting, crashing, double libraries rediculous. MP3 4 life!

sorry got a little carried away, carry on...

If you manually move files onto your Ipod you should be able to use both on the same PC

I thought the same thing but when I went to Itunes I asked them this, they said once the music, movie whatever is purchased it is YOURS. If you want to give it to people fine as long as your not making money off of it. in other words you could buy an album, make god knows how many CD's for friends and as long as your not being paid for them, that's your deal.

Either the person you talked to doesn't know about cpyright laws or you misunderstood.

The best example I have heard is this: You buy a book, the book is yours to do with what you please, keep it, give it away, burn it. But, if you make a COPY (many times just making a copy is an infringement) of the book and give or sell that copy to anyone, you are infringing on the coyright.

It is the same with music, movies or images. When you buy it, it's yours and you can do what you want with it (according to the copyright release you received, which is what a license agreement is when you buy itunes).

If someone uses one of my images that I own the copyright to without my permission or contrary to their copyright relese agreement, I can (and will) sue them for damages. That's why we have copyrights in the first place.
