my huntin cabin is a 40x60 metal bldg that has 1000sqft living area. I made my walls a foot thick with dbl insulation(R30) and it is very efficient with heating and cooling.

i'll take the camera out if i get a chance today. i can get some outside photo's but as said above, when you are inside you cant tell the difference. they are finished out the same as a regular home, sometimes nicer cause they had extra cash to spend since they saved it on the outside.

These are very popular down along the coast. I can not count how many of these metal building/houses have been built in POC just in the last year.

Back when I used to do construction work we did quite a few metal buildings. The best reason I had ever heard was " In ten years if I don't like it, I'll just gut the entire inside and redesign it. Poof! new house" Any that we did the finished product was outstanding.

This is the way i am going for the retirement home. I will have ha 40x60 building on a slab.
I want to get that sprayed on foam insulation on the walls and ceiling and then dry wall it in. I know it will be more effiecient. I know of one person that has less than $100 electric bills with one A/C unit, in the summer, with this application.

At my last job we started getting into doing more metal building finish outs. The last one I was involved with was finished out in rough cut cedar. It was 2 bedroom 1 bath with a large living room. It turned out real nice for a camphouse.

I have written a ton of them lately. It is a big thing going on around here. I have been in some that are the most beautiful inside you have ever seen and you would never know they look like a barn on the outside. I have a lot of cool pics of some, but will not post them on here cause of privacy,etc... They are awesome and if my wife would go for one I would build one out on our rural property. One of my cousins is building a very nice one on the farm right now....

Ok for the contractor type folks. Any idea a ballpark figure on cost to finish the inside. I can do most of it, but my time is tight.
