    Leveling kit for 2012 f150

I'm looking at buying an f150 4x4 6.5 bed and was wondering if there is a leveling kit for it. Compared to my f250 it sits really low. I just want to lift it about 2.5 but I don't want to spend alot just raise the front a little. Any info?

You can use spacers or replacement struts.
Belltech makes an adjustable strut that will raise it up to 3" (I think) for $100 each.
Either way will throw off the control arm geometry and wear out the ball joints quicker than the stock height.

Leveling kits on a 1/2 ton anything suk!

When you hang a trailer with normal tongue weight on it, your headlights shine higher and you will get flashed a bunch at night!

I have a 2001 f150 supercrew I bought for my son that has a leveling kit on it and the ball joints were worn out due to the leveling kit.

Front ends tend to need enough maintenence in stock form. Altering the suspension in the manner a leveling kit does adds to the problems.

Did a levellling kit on a F150 a few years back and hated it. Truck would squat quite a bit more with a simple 16' tandem axle trailer than it did before.

I ended up doing an add-a-leaf in the back to put it back to the factory rake, basically I lifted the whole truck.

Giant waste of money once it was all done. I would never do another one.

That's my main concern with getting a f150 is the weight capacity.

bilsteins 5100's can be added to raise the front a few inches... a person could add a differential drop and not worry about added wear to the arms or anything

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 and I like my leveling kit, stock dodges have just too much rake. With that said, yes it does squat under any little load. Looks alot better unloaded though.

I am thinking of getting a ecoboost. 3/4 gasser would be a 6.2L and I would think mileage would suck and it prob only costs 6-7k less new.
90% of the 60k miles I drive a year are with a light trailer or empty. The 1-2 times a month I pull a big heavy trailer is what is holding me back. I am just pondering a new truck and am tired of looking at $60k stickers on diesels and looking at $4+ fuel getting 13 mpg on a daily basis. I just worry I might regret getting a 1/2ton gasser or I'll have to buy an additional older 3/4 for just incase and an extra work truck.

If I got the 1/2 ton I would prob put in an add a leaf or air shocks regardless of the leveling kit. The one I'm looking at is a long bed crew withthe towing package with the 3.73 rearend but it only has 3 leaf springs.

Just not sure what I want to do!

I put a 2" auto spring level and 3" rear blocks on my 06 f150 50k miles ago and have had zero problems. And I know quite a few others that have no problems either. So I dunno where y'all are coming from. I carry 1-2 tons of corn in the bed of my truck to the land a few times a year as well as pull a 18' trailer with some equip on it. Sure it's "sags" a little but no "problems".
                          I highly recommend it!!

PS: Adjustable shocks and add-a-leafs will both make for a much rougher/stiffer ride.

This is not true, I have a Tundra with a 3" lift and level with an adaleaf in the rear. I do not shine anyone with a load on the truck.
