Seen it and it's a perfect example of what the current administration is out to implement nation wide.

This is only a few of the horror stories that came from that storm. A lot of the authorities and law enforcement took advantage of citizens and broke numerous laws during this disaster. It really overshadowed the good that some tried to do.

Man that was such a sad situation. Those people had no idea what was going on; it's sad how much worse the situation there was made by all the people who were supposed to be helping.

Welcome to the NWO, get use to or do something about it.
I worked down there 5 days after it hit, I could tell you stories all day.
You have no rights and you aren't free unless you have a buttload of money to do something about it.

The next legislative session after that fiasco in New Orleans, Texas passed a law making such actions illegal in this state.

I just looked it up. It is under emergency management in the Government Code. The new law allows it to be like a traffic stop in that an officer can disarm you while he is speaking to you but he has to return the firearm and all ammo unless you are under arrest or the guns are evidence in a crime.

                            GOVERNMENT CODE
                            TITLE 4. EXECUTIVE BRANCH
SUBTITLE B. LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC PROTECTION

                            CHAPTER 418. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Sec. 418.184. FIREARMS. (a) A peace officer who is acting in the lawful execution of the officer's official duties during a state of disaster may disarm an individual if the officer reasonably believes it is immediately necessary for the protection of the officer or another individual.
                            (b) The peace officer shall return a firearm and any ammunition to an individual disarmed under Subsection (a) before ceasing to detain the individual unless the officer:
                            (1) arrests the individual for engaging in criminal activity; or
                            (2) seizes the firearm as evidence in a criminal investigation.
                            Added by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 18, Sec. 2, eff. April 27, 2007.

Of course that doesn't stop some rogue cop from doing something but he will be breaking the law if he does.
