I have the matrix, 2011 carbon carbon element and just bought the black out rkt element I like the new rkt cams the best ,never shot a z7.

Not sure how the new elements are but I have a 2011 matrix and absolutely love it. Have not ever enjoyed shooting at the target as much as I do with this bow. They are high but well worth it.

Well worth your drive to CCR, Cinnamon Creek Archery. They have one of the best Hoyt techs in the country working there. Kyle Chambers , & a huge selection of bows.

I shot both each year, and the rkt cam was much nicer to me then the fuel.

I ended up going with Mathews each year but side by side I got a minimum of 10fps faster with all other things being equal.
