    Help this beginner turkey hunter..

Well me n my bro r doing a buncha work on his buddies lease n we will be getting the opportunity to do a lot of hunting this year. But I got questions for turkey hunting! First off when's the best time, morning, day or night? Next, which is the best calls for a beginner to use? Should I use a decoy of any type? I've done a lot of research but I figured I could get some more input from some TBHers!!! Thanks!

Morning, slate call, Pop-up blind, two hens & one Jake decoy...oh, and they go crazy over chicken scratch(feed). Thats how I shot the one in my avatar.

Scout the turkeys and find out where they roost. Put them to bed an pick a spot the following morning a couple hundred yards from the roost, get there well before daylight. Use any call that you are comfortable with, and decoy's have always helped me, i normally use a hen and a jake decoy. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Carbon injection. Pick your make and model and let it fly.

Any good but not outrageously priced box calls yall have in mind?

Also remember not real sure how to use one. YouTube will help I guess

Any box will work! I dont use box so I dont know what the best ones are these days. Just keep cadence rhythmic...low if birds are close! Always start soft in case there is one close...then you can ramp it up if you need to gain distance! Sometimes you think they are dumb as a stump....sometimes world champs cant get them to come...thats why I love it!! Good luck!

Slate call, do a lot of putts, purrs, accasional yelps, hen jake dcoy, call aggressively after they leave roost, after first two hours in am move every 30 min 3-4 hundred yards sit call hard for 30 min, do this until about 11am, hit em again at 3 pm, good luck!

#5's will do it out of a scattergun, but I prefer grim reaper mechanicals out of a mathews.

Juan, if you need a tag along to help you, I'm down anytime. I mouth, box, and slate call and can get the birds to come in no problem!
