I honestly can't answer if it is a non religeous thread. there are 2 very spiritual people in my life I can turn to. I'll leave it at that or I'll have to give a "religeous" response.

Although Christ truely is my rock, I cannot picture going through life without trust in my fellow man. Certainly not all of them, but there are men, and women I would trust with my life. Even my daughters life! I believe, (and this is just me, not saying anyone else has to), if I don't trust people God puts into my life, then I don't trust Him.

Well, looks like it got "religeous" after all. Sorry for the hijack, carry on.

Well, Jesus is mine, but for mankind, I would have a hard time picking between two, I grew up next to youngest out of 5 kids, all pretty close in age, 5 of us born within 6 years, As a young man growing up, I always felt closer to my younger brother, and sister right above me, The older two, a brother and sister just always seemed to be on my case, didn't like the little ones around, so to speak. In 1986 we lost our little brother in a M/C wreck, life definately changed. My middle sister kinda withdrew from the family, people deal with things differently, Anyway, I guess it was around that time that I realized, all of the things the older two were drilling into me was not trying to push me away, they were trying to prepare me for life. Kinda like my folks, Boy I wish I would have paid a lot more attention to them now. I have been blessed with a few friends, that I know I can depend on for anything and everything for life, Some right here on the GS, But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, nowhere to go but up, I know that my brother and sister will always be there for me. They have no problem telling me how the cow ate the cabbage, But right or wrong they will be there for me. My wish for all of you is to have been blessed in life with the friends and family that I have

Can understand where you might believe that and of course we all have good good friends that GOD has entrusted us with. The problem is that man fails, GOD never does. I trust 100% in GOD but never 100% in a man. Its just math.

Ok I won't get religious, I'll just be factual. (1) Jesus Christ (2) my Wife (3) my Children (4) my Friends.

                        Just to define religion
                        -----------------------------
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

                          Excellent title... and understood.

                          1. God

                          1a. my buddy, Arvid.

                          EBH,

Something to think about... your 'math' is accurate, but perhaps your thinkin' ain't.

                          POINT...

                          1. That Lord that you (rightly) trust 100%... trusts you... BEYOND your capacity to match the 'math' of that trust. He has, since before you were saved and kind and good and gentle and godly and wise... loved you (i.e. BELIEVED IN YOU) Calvary-deep.

                          2. Surely I am not the only ornery soul that has been fortunate enough to have a good man believe in him and trust him in similar manner. Have you never had anyone give more benefit of the doubt than you deserved?

...did that never spurn you on to be more worthy of that trust?

Is that not a part of our Master's character that the world would hunger for (not speaking of being idiotic, gutless doormats. The good men who trusted me into Manhood... would stomp the batsnot out of a purposely useless cur dog)?

                          Just a thought.

And to the OP, nossir, in no way was I being 'religious'. My revulsion for such cheap, easy, filthy "godliness" is at least a match for what yours seems to be. I was just being real in my conversation with EBH.

Point taken CM. The math I was referring to was 100% rock.....for me, I don't find that in a man. Of course I have and have had many trustworthy, loyal friends, but are just not my Rock. . I get what your saying though.
