Do u carry (chl) while at work, against policy?

Might not want to answer do to incriminating yourself. But gonna ask any way. Those of u that work out in the field for a company that has a no guns policy, do u carry anyway? I work for a company that does not alow it and I have to go to some pretty rough areas. I don't carry but think it sucks that they don't alow it even though I am licensed thru the state. Just curious if any of u do.....

Are you asking people to admit to a felony on the internet?

No I do not, even though I would like to. My security clearance is too important to my future after this job to wreck any chances....It does stink though.

It's not a felony. A company policy might mean a loss of a job, but it's not going to land you in jail.

I did not break company policy at the places I worked that were no carry places. But, now that I own my company, the policy is much more gun friendly.

I work rentals in Oak Cliff. Carry off and on, pulled on someone number of times just to have a peaceful conversation, then let them walk. I'm told I have a reputation in some of the areas, my truck and myself are known by site to most. course the sawed off pump I sometimes carry openly stems some possible problems.

So it is not a felony to illegally carry a fire arm?

Some places are illegal to carry and some places are against company policy. If it is marked with 30.06 then it is illegal to carry. If the manual says it's against policy then you might get fired but I doubt you will get arrested.

Company rules don't make it illegal.

I once, in the not too distant past, worked for an insurance company & travelled. They prohibited ccw. I determined that since my nearest coworker was 6+ hours away, I wasn't at much risk for being caught for violating the policy. I decided the only way that they would know was if I ever had to use it, at which point I would be thankful to be alive & gladly look for new employment (& one with a more friendly gun policy).

Fast forward to today, I work for a small corp. we have a no gun policy, however many of us hunt & it's not uncommon for someone to show off their new firearm. I carry daily & certainly when in foreign lands (anywhere outside of Texas). They are aware, & I'm not the only one who openly violates the policy.
