I was ok with it until the safety cage went away! Man there ought to be some way to tie off every step of the way. After it is all done I think I would just skydive back down to save time and energy...BUT NO WAY!!!!!

Ummm No thanks. Even as a former skydiver there is no way in heck I would do that. With parachute, maybe but probably not. That tool bag dangling behind me would give me the willies just thinking about it getting snagged on something.

You would think this tower would have been designed a little differently because they knew people would have to actually climb it to change the lightbulb. Like having 1 1/2-2 ft long ladder steps, handles when on the platform that sticks out for the workers to grab - maybe a side panel to help them out, different designs on the steps in the area with the circles and slanted bars, rods that aren't sticking out into their climbing path, and handles on the platform 60' from the top. I would never trust my life to 3/8 carriage bolts either. I hope he wears a parachute just in case something goes wrong because that's plenty tall enough for a safe base jump, but if you're falling it'd be pretty hard to line up with a 30 lb bag and you run the risk of having the chute open while you're just working. Definitely not for me.
