    Power wheel tune up...

My wife shorted out the battery on my sons power wheel (and one of my battery chargers )... any way. I had my boats battery laying around and got an idea. 6v to 12v and he can ride it for a day instead of an hour without charging. Then I needed to make it fit and cover the hole. Last night I grabbed some wood out of th duece (deer blind). Anyway came home today and the boy and I tinkered with wat we had in the garage. Here is what we came up with

                it actually works quite well...

almost 2x as fast. and its been working like this for a while. I just finally but it all together "the right way"... or atleast safer.

he has been riding it not bolted down for a few weeks... (bungied)...

he has rode it for literally hours with out even needing a single charge.

Would the increased voltage not burn up the 6V motor? I don't know, but I can guarantee you, from personal experience, that if you feed 220VAC to a 110VAC cieling fan, it will burn up in NO TIME! Of course, the short while that it runs, it sounds like a Blackhawk helo taking off, and you feel like your house is going to lift off the foundation, which is kinda cool, then smoke starts pouring out of it and it goes caput.

Classic Bro. He's ready to drag a hog or two from under the feeder with that thing!

By the way, the lease didn't pan out. The kids screwed it up again.

Most of those use a 6-18 volt motor. You should be ok. Now all you need is a 20 volt solar panel to mount on the top of that piece of wood, and you are looking at continuous usage without stops to charge!

                              lol... no doubt.

I dont knkow about burning them up. I was looking around and have seen people putting 18v on them and doing wheelies and stuff, and putting rubber traction bands to get traction...

I am sure its not BETTER for them. But so far no issues. I got this thing off c-list for 50 bucks. if he burns it up oh well. he will be out growing it and stepping into a real quad soon enough. Wont hurt my feelings...

If one goes out I will let yall know!
