    Deer Hunting around Benjamin

I have made a similar posts in regards to Knox County, but it was related to a little different area. We are looking at a place north of Benjamin. I would like to hear about any hunting experiences from the area. We are just north of the the river(within a mile) on the south side of Truscott. . We border the Spike Box on more than 1 side. They ranch does have quite a bit of rough country, made up of some mesquite, rough ravines, ridges and cedar thickets. Our group is interested in trophy bucks, not overwhelming #'s. However, we would like their to be a fair amount of deer, at least enough to make it interesting. My main concern is the deer density is in the area. For those of you that have hunted in that part of the county, what is your experience with the number and quality of deer?

    Thanks for reading

Don't put too many guys on and you will be fine. You don't hunt that country for density. You hunt it for quality.

Talk to Grayson or jkaggie07. I know they both hunt in the area.

There is some really good genetics in the area. Population varies. I have seen some unbelievable huge deer along 114 before Benjamin up to Guthrie. The big ranches should help tremendously. Scout it out. Wheat is a big factor if you got any.
