    Truck Stuck in 4-Low...Need Advice

The guy that is installing the '05 LLY along with the '05 Allison and transfer case into my '03 LB7 truck just called. He was finally able to turn it over and eventually got it running. There are a few minor details he needs to troubleshoot, but the biggest problem has to do with the transfer case. The truck is stuck in 4 Lo...when he pushed the button it flashes, but will not move out of 4 low. He used the '05 transfer case along with the '05 harness. Any ideas? I need my truck ASAP, and he isn't sure where to start.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Put transmission in neutral that usually helps. Maybe see if it will go in 4-high. Maybe wheels are in a bind, try rolling it backwards while in neutral and hit 2wd button.

      Sounds like a vacuum issue.

        maybe a 4x4 actuator issue?

Some must be in "N" and brake pressure applied.

Check the fuse box 10 amp fuse on side the door

If the neutral trick doesn't work. Take the actuator off the transfer case and see if it operates when you push the button. If it doesn't you either have a wiring problem or need a new actuator.

While the actuator is off you might be able to "shift" the transfer case back into 2wd manually. Just "shift" what the actuator was trying to "shift".

Got it working...I thought about the neutral right after I posted and gave him a call. It has a small a/c leak, but hopefully that will be the only other issue.

                      Thanks,
                      Brandon

I some times have to hit n and then depress break and sometimes roll in reverse for a couple feet and hold neutral again and it pops out. If that's your only problem and not an electronic issue

Glad you got it fixed..........but something to keep in mind. There is a problem with the positioner failing on the transfer case motor, this motor shifts the t-fer from high to low and neutral.

                              looks like this..........
