    Problem SOLVED

Sorry, I'm no help. My 4 stroke does the same stuff. It seems to get better when I'm about 50' from finishing!

A young boy was setting on a corner with a lawn mower for sale. A preacher rides up on his bike looks at the lawn mower and ask the boy if he will trade the lawnmower for his bike. Boy says let me test drive the bike while you look at the lawn mower. Young boy rides the bike around the block as the preacher is trying to start the lawnmower. He rides up on the bike and says yeah I will trade you. The preachers say well I cant get the mower started. The young boy says, you have to cuss it to make it start. The preacher says I cant do that I am a man of the cloth. Which the young boy replies pull on it a few more times and you will cuss it.

Smart mine does the same thing. Its a Husqvarna that starts on the 1st or 2nd pull even after sitting up for a year but only runs on full choke. I'm to scared to take it apart as weedeaters are the devil and it may not run when i put it back together. Guess i may try the cleaning the spark arrestor like SWS said, if i can even find where that is at

Buy you a can of Seafoam Deep Creep. Start the unit, even if it will only idle, remove the air filter assembly and spray directly into the throat of the unit. It will smoke and die out. Try starting it again several times and spray some extra into the throat. Let it sit overnight. This is a petro based spray that will not harm 2cycles like carb cleaner. Sometimes it will help dissentigrate some of the gumming in the carb. It is good to use on running units a couple times a year. It will help break down the carbon build up and help keep those spark arrestors clean.

I just had to fix my blower with the same problem. i took the carb apart and it ended up being the filter broke off then end of the suction hose and there was trash on the screen where the gas goes into the carb. Cleaned it up and was good to go.

                        Head Scratcher

How can something so simple be such a head scratcher? My weed-eater would only run on full choke - and not very well. Took it apart, cleaned carb and inspected fuel lines three times before pulling lines out of the tank. The suction line inside the tank was split from one end to the other - as if someone cut it with a razor blade. Replaced the fuel line and it runs great. Found out later the same thing happened to my brothers machine. Should have found the problem on first inspection. Old Guys are a bit slow!

Simple solution. Throw out the gas motor weedeater, get in the truck and head to Lowes/Home Depot, and buy you a new Ryobi 1+ lithium ion battery weedeater. Go home, plug in the battery and start trimming weeds.
