This Crap Should Be Illegal- Invasion of Privacy

Although it doesn't affect me or my career, this is the type of garbage and invasion of privacy that I am vehemntly opposed to. Being required to provide your Facebook password to a potential employer...America is in a sad state of affairs my friends.

Simple solution, don't have a facebook page

          I don't and never will.

Most of the stuff I see posted on those type of sites is useless and a waste of time to even read. I am sure there are some benefits for some folks, just have not seen any of my coworkers pages provide anything I would call useful and figure the majority of folks post the same kind of crap

I hear ya- never thought I would either. But if you own your own business it's a pretty good marketing and networking tool. And it's free.

Your missing the point bro, it doesn't matter if you have or do not have a fb page, what matters is there are people requiring others to submit their private post and passwords. It's an invasion of privacy, where will it stop?

Very sad. I have an FB account, but I am not friends with anybody from work. Some have asked me to friend them and I say no. I keep my work life and personal life separate.

This could be a great thead for discussion and I will be following it.........Thank you Cable for posting. I would like to add something from an employers stand point.......People have a right to be people.........Our company will never ask for this information in the hiring process. That being said........When you post on any public forum (myself included) we are opening a door that was private and inviting the public in.

One important thing to remember you can always say anything you like, but every choice has consequences or rewards.........in the end the chioce was our own.

The hospital where my wife works has actually fired some people because of what they posted on their personal Facebook page. What ever happened to free speech ?
