    Bow shoots?

I've never been to one, and I saw a post for a local on the other day.

But I have no clue what goes on at one, or what I would even need to bring.

    Please enlighten me.

Most 3-D bow shoots are broken into classes of equipment. Bring your bow and set-up, go shoot the 3-D foan animal targets.

Is it suppose to be a competition, or just a bunch of people shootin ?

3d shoots are great. Meet some fellow hunters and shoot some targets. It's great practice and all you need is your bow and some bino's to check out the circles on the target. I usually just aim behind the shoulder.

3d shoots are fun. Think of golf, but with a bow You walk from target to target with a group. You take one shoot at the target, take a score and move to the next one. Our shoot has 30 different animals, and depending on group size could take 1 1/2 to 3 hours to shoot the course. Cost is $15 for competition or $10 to shot just for fun. There are classes by age and type of bow. Its a real blast

Yes. It's a competition, that has a bunch of people shootin'. Not trying to be a smart ***, but that's what you'll find. Hard core competitors mixed with groups who are there for the fun and friendship.

If you go to one, find a group to join and go out and have fun!

If you were closer I would let you tag along with me and the grandkids. 3D shoots are just what everyone has said they were. It is unknown distance, usually between 15 and 40 yds. but some can stretch out to 50/60 yds. You will usually check in and pay and get a score card. I would tell whom ever is Manning the gate that it is your very first shoot and you need some help. I don't think there has ever been a person at a shoot that would not help someone new to the sport. If you like to shoot by all means get on out there. After about 3 or 5 targets you won't be a newbie anymore and will have the hang of the game. Good luck and have fun.
