UGLY!!!! hey man you are talking about our baby girl....haha all kidding aside its an AIREDALE. One great hunting dog. I used to run bear with them in Washington state when I lived in Montana...they are amazing trackers!!! . They are a mountain dog.....tough as nails. had one in Alaska when I lived there for 10 years....could pull a 3 dog sled pretty much all day...lots of stamina. and very loving.

When I saw your heading for this post, I had laugh at the thought of having to teach a dog to run deer. It's been my experience that virtually any hunt breed of dog will run deer. Especially if thats NOT what your hunting for. Yes sir, an Airdale if full of grit, up here many lion and bear guides include at least one airdale as a hair puller in their pack.
