    CAC/Smart Card users

    Does anyone use a military id at home on their personal computer? I am having trouble getting the internet whether it be internet explorer or frefox, to recognize my card. websites like Air Force Portal say CAC error and cant figure it out, weird think is the LED lights on the reader are lit up like its good to go......any ideas?

    do you have the cac software installed on your home PC?

      I bought a CAC Reader from Radio Shack and downloaded the program I haven't had any problems.

        ya the link you sent goes straight to the portal, it wont let me log in thats where i am gettin the cac error message, and it says this product is plug and play so i dont get what the problem is

          the device is plug and play, but the software has to be installed to work with the portal. you will have to d/l it on your next duty day and install it after that.

            I had the same issue when I first got my reader, i had to down load the brand CAC reader software then down load a bunch of certificates what I would suggest doing is call AKO or DKO what ever system yall use and get them to help you. Or try calling the CAC reader help line
