I have an '01 with 204,000 miles on it. The injectors were replaced some time ago under warranty. It has started to smoke at idle and sometimes it lopes, but it still pulls really well? I have noticed the mileage is worse than it used to be? Any ideas? Thanks.

Have to have your balance rates checked to be sure. In my 03 the injectors went @ 80k miles and repaced under warranty. I sold it at 160k when it just started giving a hint of a problem since I was out of warranty. Thoes LB7 engines cost $4000-5500 to replace injectors and I didnt want the headache.

I'm betting injectors again. Just helped a buddy replace all 8 in his 2003 Duramax that was running like a top but smoked real bad. Had it not been for the smoke he'd have never known they were going bad. 4 out of 8 were bad and on both sides so he replaced them all.

Injectors. If they replaced the injectors back before they corrected the injector, it just bought you more time. You can by injectors, and pay to have them installed $1-2K less than just having them installed turn key. You have to deal with ordering and core charge($1600), but worth the headache. I have mine replaced for $3500.00 with DDP 50hp injectors. Could have gone back stock and saved another $700.
DO like Smart said and have them tested.

That model eats injectors. We have one with about 220K on it (2001). One blown motor @ 30K, transmission at 65K, honestly no clue on injectors. Haven't kept up in a while but at one time counting "warranty work" (what they paid for but priced out) it had over $60K in repairs. Fuel milage aint what it used to be...........but the fuel aint what it used to be.....and its oldStill pulls as good as a GM product can anyway
