Dave yes it was a Rage hit. But I don't blame the head, it wasn't the broadheads fault. It was my own **** fault for rushing the shot and not waiting for a broadside shot. I was just so amped up to get a second shot at the buck after seeing him no less than 6 times in bow range. I took a shot that 99.9% of the time, I would let down on and wait for a broadside shot. This is the third buck I have shot and lost in my 28 yrs bowhunting. It don't get easier

I know the amped up feeling & I haven't shot nearly as big of animals you've killed so I couldn't even guess what you monster buck hunters go through when they get in range.

Maybe tomorrow will bring a buzzard or caracara sighting....we've still got our fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear this. I was excited to get to work tonight and check up on this. Hopefully you'll see him on a cam pic and he's okay. Can't fault you in any way on the shot. 99% of us probably would have taken that shot in the heat of the moment. At least you never gave up on finding him and did everything you could to locate him.

Dammit....I had to go to work today(one of my girls got sick)Hate to hear this. I worried about ya'll all day. I just knew ya'll would find him. But don't beat yourself up. Happens to us all.......Me last year if you remember. ......I know. That don't make it no easier.

Maybe you will find him, yet.

Man, I hate to hear the dogs couldn't find him. There's a good chance he'll make it. Maybe he'll be even bigger next year.

I went hunting this evening and couldn't wait to get home and get the report. Man I feel your pain! Good luck in maybe finding him tomorrow! If you don't I hope you get him next year! This has been a awesome live hunt to follow!!!!!! I along with any others on here have enjoyed it!!!

Thanks everyone. Keith thats a nice thought but this buck is 7.5-9.5 yrs old..if he lives from the wound he may not see next year either way. Trailcams are out and feeders are topped off. I'm headed home first thing tommorow so this will be the last report on the hunt. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Sorry to hear you didn't find him Bruce. But like others have said hopefully he will turn up on the trail cameras.
