?? Killing Tree's??

I have 2 big Bradford Pears I'd LOVE to kill before they bud out. Is their anything that will take them out wicked quick without worrying with it killing my Live Oaks close by? Im planning to cut them down but it will be another 4-6 weeks before I can get around to it and would prefer not to mess with the leaves If I can avoid it.

I cant get the tree guys in their for at least another 4 weeks and their are power lines close by so Im not cutting ANYTHING

There is but I believe you need a license to purchase anything that fits the bill. Chainsaw is the quickest and cheapest. Drop em now, cut them up and haul them off later. Somebody who needs some wood for their smoker will probably cut down your trees and take the wood off your hands.

Try cutting it in several places along the trunk but not all the way thru.

This^ Cut half way through at the base then move up 3 feet and cut half way through the other side; midway between the two, cut 1/4 the way through opposite sides. If your limbs are touching power lines, don't cut on the tree at all.

Drill several holes into the trunk of the tree and then inject or fill the holes with the Remedy & diesel mix. Goodbye tree.

If you cut it down it will sprout out everywhere as most are grafted to a crabapple. After you cut it and it sprouts back spray it with tordon, remendy and diesel. There won't nothing grow there for about 2 years

Girdle it. Cut all the way around about an inch deep into the cambium. Treat only the wound with the poison of your choosing. Triclopyr works best on woody plants. Round up and diesel should work to.

If your just trying to make it were it won't bloom and fill out until you can get the tree cutters out. Then just take a chain saw and make a 1 - 2" cut all the way around the tree. That is the "Cambium Layer" of the tree which provided water and food to all of the tree. It should pretty much kill the top of the tree and leave it standing till you can get someone out to remove it. The cut may need to be a little deeper depend on what type of tree you are dealing with.

^^This^^ For what you're doing, you don't even need poison. It will shut down the production of leaves and new growth until they come out to cut it down. Make two cuts. Then remove the bark between them...

drill several 1" holes at and angle around the base and keep full of roundup. They have some that is for trees and works great. I just fill the holes with straight concentrate everyday for about a week to make sure.
