I have read most of Ruark's stuff. A friend of my Dad's has an autographed set of books of his. He lived in Ethopia when he was young and his dad was a bush pilot. Bob Ruark came to his house often and had dinner with them. He eventually gave his mom an entire set of his books autographed.

Have not picked up Capstick yet but it is in the plan.

That is an awesome story!!! Capstick is great, got to meet him once when I was young before he passed. Started reading his books real early. Love his writing style. Go from stock broker, to jaguar hunter in South America, to PH and elephant/buff cropper. What a life!!!

Another interesting fact is after the Mow-Mow uprising in Kenya, and after Kenya won it's independance from England, Bob Ruark was the first "persona non grata" in Kenya. He was never allowed back into Kenya. This devistated him, he truly loved Kenya.

I think a New Zealand Red stag would be my choice.

                    I'd take a time machine and hunt a T-Rex.

                    One-up THAT!
