Originally posted by Mastro View PostThanks WCB. If I read it correctly it appears that an retired LEO or "off duty" LEO cannot carry in a 30.06 posted building.
(1) the basis on which entry on the property or land or in the building was forbidden is that entry with a handgun or other weapon was forbidden; and
(2) the actor at the time of the offense was a peace officer, including a commissioned peace officer of a recognized state, or a special investigator under Article 2.122, Code of Criminal Procedure, regardless of whether the peace officer or special investigator was engaged in the actual discharge of an official duty while carrying the weapon.
30.06 only covers Card Holders. ( CHL ) LEOs do not carry weapons by CHL law. Some LEOs do have CHLs but it is not to have the tools of the trade on person. A qualified retired LEO will by issued a card by the Department.Last edited by JBS; 02-28-2012, 01:16 PM.

Originally posted by RLB View PostDid they change the 30.06 signage portion of the CHL program? I had heard that a new law change says no banks and other facilities even without the 30.06 signage....I carry at my credit union and they have no problem with it. Just wondering.
