    7.3L late mid 90's models?

I am thinking of buying a mid 90's model F-350 7.3L. I was wondering if anyone has one and could tell me what to look for as far as problems or weaknesses when I am looking at the truck. The particular truck I am looking at is a single cab six speed. Also the truck has 200k miles, which from what I hear, it still has a lot of life left. I know my dad put 300k with out a hitch on his before the hurricane flooded it.

I have a 2000 with the 7.3L. IMO its the best motor ever put in a truck. From what I hear, International (who made the 7.3L motor) actually used the same motor in their 2 ton trucks, just a different set of computer programming. The most common problem is the camshaft position sensor, but that is easily changed in 10 minutes, if that. If you take care of them, it'll last nearly forever. I HIGHLY recommend a good synthetic oil (I use Amsoil, just a preference) and an oil bypass filtration system. You can buy it as a kit, or piece it together yourself. PM me if you ever want a hand getting one setup...

I have a '96 F350 Crew Cab 4x4. I have over 270K on it and it still runs great. I only pull a 25' toy hauler with it. It is the most dependable truck I've ever had. I don't think you can go wrong with one.

I have a 99' F350 Crew Cab Dually, It has 240k mi. and is still very powerful. It has always ran great and rides exceptionally well for a 1 ton. Some of the later 7.3 models like 2000' (not sure of the exact year model) and up have a different rod in the bottom end that does not have a great reputation. Might want to check on that before buying. I am thinking about putting mine on the market here shortly. It may or may not be what you are looking for. Pm me if you would like any details.
