Another vote for the RI. My dad is a 1911 nut. He has a few colts, but has been carrying a RI Officer model for 5 years now. I got a 'Commander Size' Tactical RI and LOVE IT. Ill never buy Kimber, too 'prettyboy' for me. My next will likely be the Springfield Lightweight Champion Operator.

No offense, just seems they cater to the 'tacticool' crowd and you arent paying for functionality and reliability (based on reviews and what friends tell me, who know their stuff). I'd rather pay the big bucks for a springfield thats tried and true than paying extra for milling work.

As a prior Kimber owner I now have an RIA 1911. I guess the main reason is, it has never had a malfunction as the Kimber did and it is more accurate-----by a long ways. I have upgraded the recoil spring to shoot 45 super ammo and added adjustable white dot sights and dressed it with some McCormick rose wood grips. I got mine when they were selling for $325.00. I consider this one of my better gun investments
