Poaching: worse today or 30 years ago?

In your view, have the incidences of poaching in Texas increased, decreased, or stayed about the same?

Are we more aware of poaching because of things like trailcams and internet sites making it more visible, or are the poachers growing in numbers?

I think it is worse now than earlier.

Seems to be less now than it used to be. Hunting has gotten so expensive that most of us won't tolerate poachers, thieves, and outlaws in the least bit.

Probably worse 30 years ago. Like you said, it probably seems worse now due to information we see on the web. In the older days the technology wasn't available to assist the game wardens. I do believe however that theft of hunting equipment such as stands and feeders have went up.

I would say the county I hunt is worse because the GW isn't near as good as the one we had years ago.

I'd bet worse, with the rising cost of hunting, less people can afford the equipment much less the ridiculous amounts hunts/leases cost

Its the same. It just seems like its worse becuase of the internet.

it is a different kind of poacher today than to 30 years ago.

30 years ago the main reason for poaching was meat. now days more people poach for horns

I would say less because of harsher pushisment, ie: feloney charges.

I would say it's about the same. The old poachers have taught the new poachers, their kids.

Poaching is mostly high-tech now and the good ones are difficult to catch. Night vision, suppressors, cell phones gps's. I think the #'s are about the same. How about all the teachers having sex with underage students. I'll bet it was happening a 100 years ago we just didn't have Tv and the internet
